Why mind your own weight?
Far too often, many people make the mistake of thinking weight loss is simply about following a pre-set diet and/or some form of exercise for a specified period of time. Apart from the fact that doing so is easier said than done, there are so many other components that influence and dictate whether or not you will actually lose weight and achieve the body shape that you desire.
That is why two people can follow the exact same diet in the exact same manner yet they have two completely different results. This generally happens whether we’re talking about following a diet or anything else in life you want to achieve. Life would be so much more simple if all we have to do is pull out a universal guideline for whatever we want to achieve and follow it. It just doesn’t happen and here’s why…
How Your Mind And Body Function Together Are As Unique As Your Fingerprint
Just as there are no two people amongst the billions of people that exist that have the same fingerprints, there are no two people with a mind and body that function exactly the same.
To add to the uniqueness that each of us have, our minds affect our bodies and our bodies affect our minds whether we’re leading a healthy lifestyle or not, and each in a different manner based on many varying factors including:-
- Hereditary Traits
- Cultural Influences
- Your Conditioning and Programming
- Social Influences
- Environmental Influences
- Your Individual Values & Beliefs
- Your Metabolism
- The Effect of Medication You May Be Taking
- Your Individual Bodily Functions Including Allergies, Reactions etc
- Your Personality and Attitude
- Your Stress Levels
- Your Coping Mechanisms
All of these factors plus more influence our individual eating patterns, digestion process and how we lose weight (if at all). This is just one of the reasons why following diets and guidelines that are created for the masses rather than for the individual do not work.
Traditional diets simply cannot address all of these factors and cater for your individual and specific needs, especially, as you now realize, there is more to losing weight than following pre-specified portions and guidelines.
Knowledge Is Power … And Weight Loss That Lasts
That is why, if you truly want a more appropriate and effective way of losing weight for good – you must learn how to tune into your own body and mind your own weight as no-one else can really do that for you.
Without knowing or understanding how your own body functions both physically and psychologically in response to the above listed factors, continuing to follow traditional diet plans will only lead to weight gain in the end, rather than the slim and healthy body you desire.
